Born and grew up in Lewes, I have lived in this area for the past 37 years. I am married, with 3 children and 6 grandchildren. I spent some of my childhood on a dairy farm and my brother was a farmer for many years, so I have an appreciation of what farmers are going through at the moment.
My hobbies are reading, fishing, woodworking and being told by my children, and now my grandchildren, why I am wrong!
I was an airline pilot and navigator for BOAC, then spent 29 years flying for Cathay Pacific, becoming Fleet Manager B747s, with 19 aircraft and their crews to look after.
I was a member of the Conservative Party for many years, until our views diverged, mainly over Brexit. There are now, however, a host of other things we disagree on.
I joined UKIP, became Chairman and stood for both the County Council and Parliament, coming second both times, but trebling our vote in the General Election.
I joined the Brexit Party, when it was formed and as a natural progression, Reform UK.
I do not consider myself an extreme right-wing terrorist, as Kier Starmer would have you believe. Rather, I am, like most people in the country, a pragmatist and realist. Unlike the majority of the present members of Parliament, I had a job in the real world, solving real world problems. When something goes wrong on an aeroplane, the crew have to react quickly and correctly. We do not have time to call in consultants.
When all said and done, airline companies tend not to give a £400 million aeroplane and 410 passengers to idiots!
